Official Colors

edit

On the official website at http://www.gammaphibeta.org/meet/overview/ the official colors are clearly listed as Brown and Mode. The New Logo page just says that the branding is brown and pink although that does not Pink and official color. The pink is likely from the pink carnation their official flower.

—Yes, the official colors of Gamma Phi Beta are Brown and Mode in deference to, Dr. Brown, who allowed the four founders to meet in his office to form Gamma Phi Beta & his office was decorated in Brown and Mode. In 2006, at the international convention, the International Council unveiled PR in a Box. In this new PR system, they showed the use of pink in the logo and images. Currently, GPhiB is allowed to use pink in the signs but the official colors will remain Brown and Mode. Gamma Phi Beta does not sanction local chapters having a "local mascot" or "local colors." Interesting... When I was an undergrad, one of the sisters of my local chapter explained 'mode' as being any complimentary and current color, to match against brown. Other material on the Gamma Phi website says that "mode" means a lighter version of any other color; in this case, brown. OK - If that portion of my recent edits (21 Sept 2020) is wrong, please adjust it. Meanwhile, I've added updated color swatches and links in the infobox and further down the page, referencing the four secondary colors now listed on the GPhi website. I derived their six-character hexidecimal code directly from a sample on the branding page of the website.
It may be desirable to update the crest in the infobox with the new version, from the recent rebranding. Jax MN (talk) 22:45, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
