Evaluation and Plan to Edit

edit

I will be editing this article as part of my undergraduate scientific writing course. The page currently lacks clear organization and is sparse in both information relating to history/function and does not cite many resources. The following are areas of improvement that I intend on expanding upon to strengthen the article.

  1. Organization - I plan to divide the information based on topical categories to aid in readability, as it currently has no clear organizational components
  2. Content - There is only structural discussion about the operon on the page so far, so I intend on adding more information on History, Function, and Practical Applications
  3. Media - I plan to add a figure or diagram that may help in providing the reader a visual representation of the structure of the operon
  4. References - The entire article relies only on two references, so I will expand the body of supporting literature cited in this article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Np715016 (talkcontribs) 03:35, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Edit Summary 11/20 (User: Np715016)

edit

I have edited this article as part of my Wiki-education writing class.

Summary of Changes:

  1. Reorganized the information: I have rearranged and organized the preexisting information into the following categories: Introduction, Structure, Function.
  2. Added information: I have added information about histones, cAMP-CRP repression, GalR repression/ regulation, Gal structural proteins, and operon structure/ organization.
  3. Sources: I have added 10 sources and removed 1 (Not scientific/ reliable).
  4. Additional Notes: I was unable to add a figure like I planned due to copyright issues. I was also not able to make a "history" section or "practical" section due to a lack of information/ resources. A copy of my edits can be found in my sandbox.
