@T8612: I added a footnote to the consuls' list using that very same Ogilvie source, and that's probably sufficient already. I don't think a separate page for someone whose name we don't even know with certainty is necessary, especially since we know basically nothing of the man itself. @Avilich: In this case you would have to remove articles for more than a hundred consuls, something I'm not really supporting. Consuls were a kind of "head of state" and should always have articles imo, like the first Pharaohs or Spartan kings, of whom we likewise only know the name. I'm not a fan of having one-sentence articles saying 'X was consul' and nothing more. A 'hundred' is probably an overstatement, only a few (at most) articles on consuls are like that, and I didn't even delete this, I just converted it to a redirect. There are several phantom consuls in the late Empire of whom we know basically nothing and who lack articles currently. On Curiatius Philo specifically, the only thing (to my knowledge) that can be said about him is the confusion about his name and whether he's a fabrication. An article dedicated to just that will sound too scholarly and not very historical, and to me a footnote in the consuls' list is already enough. Avilich (talk) 14:22, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@T8612: so, I changed my mind about this one specifically, and added some more I hadn't found previously. But are you done already? Presumably the article title needs to be decided upon too. Curiatius seems more correct, especially if we consider that he was the brother of the decemvir. For the cognomen, Philo looks more common. I think there should be redirects for all possibilities (Curiatius Chilo, Curiatius Philo, Curtius Philo, Curtius Chilo). T8612 (talk) 20:15, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
