Impossible time/distance?

edit
occurred an estimated 1.9 billion years ago, at a distance of 2.4 billion light-years away from Earth

Surely that's impossible. I note that the two figures come from different articles; perhaps one was written after the estimates were refined? David (talk) 12:31, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Universe has expanded. Nerd271 (talk) 04:40, 9 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but the event did not take place 2.4 Gly away from us. That's the distance it has moved to over the past 1.9 Gy. At the time of the event, it was 1.9 Gly distant. I agree that it is misleading as written and needs to be changed. TricksterWolf (talk) 07:09, 29 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think so. The context makes it clear that it happened 1.9 billion years ago and is not 2.4 billion light-years from Earth. The Universe is not static. In any case, I changed the wording. Nerd271 (talk) 16:32, 29 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
