Move of "GQL Graph Query Language" to "Graph Query Language" is wrong edit

I'm wondering why the page Graph Query Language was moved from GQL Graph Query Language, and what process was followed to do this?

The name of this language is GQL which is short for Graph Query Language. Its name rhymes with SQL (however you pronounce that), and it's a sister language to SQL, produced by the same International Standards committee ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC32/WG3 (Database Languages).

It is primarily and typically referred to as GQL, and this page move (name change) is tantamount to removing the page from access by search engines.

I would have expected communication prior to this, informally, followed by the formal move request process and so on. Equally, I don't want to revert the move without talking about this.

Please read MOS:ACROTITLE.
GQL is not primarily associated with Graph Query Language. See https://www.abbreviations.com/GQL. -- Cedar101 (talk) 10:44, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please read the next section of that page ["Acronyms as disambiguators"].

This follows a discussion in the section you cite about the possible need for a disambiguation page (hence the reference to saving space). Graph Query Language (GQL) or the original GQL Graph Query Language reflect this style policy, and the fact that the subject is known primarily by its abbreviation. Failing to include the acronym makes the page title opaque. A James Green (talk) 15:42, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

I changed GQL from redirection to disambiguation page. Let's continue this discussion in Talk:GQL. -- Cedar101 (talk) 06:40, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
