Talk:G-A-Y

peacock edit

The description regarding cheap drinks is incredibly un-encyclopaedic!

Madonna edit

There was an article saying "Madonna's performance reinvigorated g-a-y on the gay scene". This was pure conjecture and unencyclopaedic

Heaven buyout edit

The Heaven buyout story has been confirmed in the press. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pepsibot (talkcontribs) 18:31, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can we have some references then please? Technohead1980 10:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
As I can find zero evidence of the alleged Heaven buy-out - even on MAMA Group's website - the additions to that effect cannot be regarded as anything other than malicious. There is nothing on the G-A-Y website proper, nothing on Heaven's website, and nothing on Mean Fiddler's, either. MAMA's site does detail their buy-out of Mean Fiddler, so one would expect that they would be just as keen to publicise this supposed acquisition, as well. In any case, the lease on the Astoria doesn't run out until the end of 2008, so there is zero incentive for G-A-Y to move anywhere before the end of this year. Pepsibot has already been banned, but attempted to gain page protection to Heaven (nightclub) to prevent reversion of such vandalism there. Nick Cooper 16:55, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oldest British Gay Nightclub? edit

Nightingale Club in Birmingham was established in 1967 - nine years earlier than G-A-Y http://www.gaybirminghamremembered.org.uk/topics/The+Nightingale —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tvmercia (talkcontribs) 02:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Performances section edit

Unwieldly and unreferenced. Should only need a few representative examples along the lines of other venues (e.g. Hammersmith Apollo). Nick Cooper (talk) 07:05, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced edit

Article may need references to prove that the people have actually performed at the nightclub, such as One Direction. Did they really perform there or is someone having a bit of fun by adding them? --Mjs1991 (talk) 21:43, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
