Gunther Levi merge

edit

It looks like the Gunter Levi article describes the same guy as this one.

We've got redundant articles here, and I don't think we need more than one on Gunther, his band, the man, or the song. None of them are notable except in relation to each other, so the information shouldn't be spread around. I'm putting merge tags on all the articles and I'll get back to it later. Should be merged --Taboo Tongue 14:21, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd say we merge this into the Gunther article. It's a lot more likely that someone will know the name "Gunther" over the artist's actual name, so I think it would make more sense if Gunther and the Sunshine Girls was the main article. Flypanam 17:10, 9 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nah just redirect all the old artical names to it as always

Agree. The more information in one article, the easier it will be to find it (Gunther is a quite common name)

If there was something significant about Mats Soderlund that's unrelated to his alter ego Gunter Levi and his collaboration with the Sunshine Girls then I would oppose this merging. If nothing can be found then I otherwise see no reason not to. JesusjonezTalk 05:27, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Who are the Sunshine Girls? The brunette looks like a girl I went to college with.

This article is crap

edit

Most of it reads like an advertisement... this is supposed to be an encyclopeadia. --Pellet 01:50, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

^ NO, that's bullshit. The article is about Günther. Stop being so jealous 24.218.52.91 (talk) 05:39, 14 August 2012 (UTC)ndgnRReply

^^^ I'd like to see some references to wich European royalty he's drawn the attention of and so on. Thanks 130.243.215.197 (talk) 18:18, 31 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I changed "sensual" to "sexual" under Philosophy. "Günther wants to change the worlds look at the sexual way of thinking, so he have started a new trend to sexualise it more in the world. "A Günther trend"." - from his website. --Mikejoyce 15:49, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is there really any question as to whether this guy is joking or not? It seems like pretty obvious satire to me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.213.229.212 (talkcontribs) .

edit

The article at http://www.yaleherald.com/article.php?Article=4443 covers the story of Gunther's arrival at Yale and is well-researched. Also http://www.yaledailynews.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=31651 is a recap of Gunther's concert at Yale.

Move?

edit

Let's face it, no one knows this guy as Mats Söderlund. Everyone knows him as Günther.

Should the page be moved, then? Something like "Günther (musician)," or somethign along those lines? Jesuschex 01:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you look at Special:Whatlinkshere/Mats Söderlund, several articles redirect here, such as Günther (artist), and now Günther (musician). So not sure if it's needed. Madder 15:22, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Object - this is what redirects are for. The article should cover both Soderlund and his character - an article about Gunther would be less relevant to those interested in the actor behind the role. DWaterson 18:57, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd prefer a proper SPLIT of information between what is know about Mats Soderlund himself, and what is known about his alter ego stage persona Gunther Levi. Since his actual appearance is quite different than what he wears on stage, and there already is a consensus here that Ding Dong Song is a parody, doesn't it follow that 'philosophy' present on the Mats Soderlund page is in fact that of his alter ego Gunther Levi and not him? Maybe create an actual page for Gunther rather than a redirect here? Empath 19:30, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

The paragraph mentioning the American concerts in 2007 are incorrect. The may 11 date is correct but the date with Williams college is at a different date or possibly nonexistent. I will talk with a with one of his booking agents that I know in order to get the correct date.

As for the article as a whole it should focus more on Mats Soderlund rather than his career as Gunther. There should be one sections about Gunther which contains a link to a separate article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.17.33.149 (talk)

First of all, you're wrong. He came to Williams on Thursday, then left for Santa Barbara Friday morning. Second, the article should be focusing on him as Gunther, since that's what he is known for. There should certainly be biographical information, but except as Gunther, most people don't know much about him. A lot of people don't even know his real name. this article is like a self-parody of Wikipedia - Infirmary 02:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Personal Life

edit

Isn't it a bit of a huge waste to state that Günther is heterosexual when it is blatantly obvious to everyone in the whole entire world that he is?

Accent

edit

There has been a bit of a revert war over whether Gunther's accent is German or Swedish, which has now been changed to a neutral alternative. Personally, I've always thought it sounds German myself, but [1] states, "Günther is a true European, his origin is Sweden but he sees himself as a global citizen." Hence, I assume it is correct to describe the accent as Swedish, even if it doesn't particularly sound it. Cheers, DWaterson 20:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • If there's a reference on an official website, then that's fine with me - so he's Swedish! Glad such an important problem on Wikipedia has finally been solved. Madder 00:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

He's Swedish, but his site doesn't say anything about his ACCENT being Swedish. If it sounds German it's German. It's possible to fake an accent. Killerlula 07:07, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Some creative vandalism

Wow that guy was good. I'm just going to delete some stuff, it doesn't seem practical to undo all the gay porn stuff. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sameerkale (talkcontribs) 19:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Date of birth

edit

Swedish and Finnish Wikipedias have his birth at 1969, not 1979. --Anshelm '77 (talk) 19:22, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the Swedish Wikipedia has him listed as born in 1979 now, but in the category of 1969 births. However, Gunther has been saying "at his prime he's a 28-year old international citizen" since 2006, which would imply he is older then that. Additionally, with his previous careers and simply looking at him, being 38 rather than 28 seems more logical. However, I have not found any reliable sources on this matter. The Sunshine Girls

edit

OK, so Gunther has collaborated with the Sunshine Girls - but who the hell are they? Most importantly, why does the link for The Sunshine Girls on the Ding Dong Song redirect HERE????!!!!! AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!! ENDLESS CIRCLES! LOGIC CIRCUITS DESTROYED!!!

misleading info

edit

in 1st line & infobox - there is info about born date: 25 July 1967, but in categories there is: 1969 births - which one is correct? 149.156.172.74 (talk) 10:58, 13 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
