- Any desire to propoagate his history further beyond his return to SPb? See, e.g. Tolstoy#The_Tolstoys_in_high_society Alex Bakharev (talk) 05:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
No English references - question accuracy of this article edit
How do we know this article is accurate if none of the references are in English? How do we know that it is not an automatically translated article? If a person translated it, how do we know if this person is fluent in both English and Russian? How do we know it is not a copyvio? There is no way to evaluate this article. —Mattisse (Talk) 04:17, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- I am translating the article and I read Russian (I guess you have to take me at my word). The translation is not the best, although it is certainly better than a machine translation. I do not claim to have investigated all of the references, although I hope to do so in the future, as well as bring in a couple English sources. In my opinion, however, any encyclopedia based purely on English sources would be a poor one. Lesgles (talk) 21:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
poem edit
I am removing Pushkin's poem for now until a good translation can be found or made:
"Epigram to Count F. I. Tolstoy"
В жизни мрачной и презренной
Был он долго погружен,
Долго все концы вселенной
Осквернял развратом он.
Но, исправясь понемногу,
Он загладил свой позор,
И теперь он — слава богу —
Только что картежный вор.
