Lead

The lead section is far too short. Another paragraph would work. Viriditas (talk) 12:52, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

I agree. Thanks for the feedback.—RJH (talk) 16:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
A second paragraph has been added.—RJH (talk) 17:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Orbit and rotation

This section lacks of verifiable source of citation. It seems somebody is watching too much movies (2012). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.55.140.181 (talk) 05:39, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey, please keep it civil. I essentially wrote this article and I've never seen 2012. Since you didn't appear to read the remainder of the section, I re-used citations in the summary paragraph.—RJH (talk) 16:41, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Regarding File:Red Giant Earth.jpg, there is a discrepancy between the image description and the caption, particularly with the dates. The image description says five billion years and the caption says seven. Can someone look into this and fix it? Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 04:49, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I just noticed that the new source about Titan above says six billion. So we have three dates instead of one. Which is correct? Viriditas (talk) 06:03, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
My source for the date on the red giant phase is Sackmann et al (1993). Please keep in mind that the red giant phase lasts about a billion years, with the peak luminosity occurring somewhere during that interval (I think toward the end, IIRC). So that may account for some of the variation.—RJH (talk) 18:36, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
So are you going to bracket the dates and/or fix the discrepancy on the image description page? Viriditas (talk) 23:35, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Fixed. Viriditas (talk) 23:47, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
