It may seem early for related articles, but . . .

There seem to be a lot of changes based on specific FPS affiliates, and sometimes there is a sort of an averaging process, and sometimes it's more of a tug-of-war. But if you want to talk about how you do things, consider starting an article about the FPS affiliate you compete in and linking to it here. (Becoming one of those crazy military history types has inspired me -- now I want to get all organizy and do everything and here's this little corner where I could be someone who gets decisions happened, and --) UnDeadGoat 06:48, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, if there's anything here but a standard and a mention of where deviations exist, it will get horribly confusing. So articles with stubby sections on things like history (founding, past IC winners, etc) along with longer sections on things that the editor knows all about, like skits/traditions/regionals/etc. UnDeadGoat 02:58, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Also, I've been trying to change "state bowl" to "affiliate final" and "state program" to "affiliate" for the new zealand/australian/non-us types. I'm from the FPSNZ affiliate, and I would like to make the FPSNZ wiki. Is there anything I should include? I won't redefine the definitions for the competitions, you've done that far too well - I have practically nothing to cover. awards section?

What do you guys think about adding a section about what kind of awards FPSP gives out? My first thought when that subtopic came to mind was "regular" awards, but then I realized there's probably not a lot to say about that (I mean, things like "At the international level, awards are given to the top ten teams in every division" etc etc etc). But what I think WOULD be relevant would be maybe some info about the Beyonder Award? Any awards I'm forgetting? I know they just started that "Yes Award" thing...not to be confused with the "No Award for Bad Coaches"...

Just a thought. I wish I could add to the CmPS section, but everything I know is already there!

Future Problem Solving Problems

The article on Future Problem Solving says that the first two problems are not competitive problems, that they are practice problems only. There are affilitates, most notably Kentucky, that use the second problem as the first competitive problem. This is known as the "district" competition problem and the problem is completed in its entiretyBabyquacks77 19:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Future scene year mistake?

Why does the section 'Future scene' indicate "...set at some point in the future (usually 20-30 years). Each..."

Who, what, where, when, how, why is FPSP

This is pure puffery

At the moment, this is completely unsourced (their own website doesn't count), and 99% irrelevant trivia. I'm perfectly willing to believe that this is a significant organization, but you need to provide multiple, independent, non-trivial sources (note the "independent" part) to demonstrate that and to verify every fact claimed in the article. Wikipedia is not a web host; if someone doesn't do something towards cleaning out the spamvertorial, I'm going to remove at least 75% of this. – iridescent 22:04, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Notability

A search for +"Future Problem Solving Program International" on Google turned up nearly 80,000 pages. Also, this organization was briefly discussed by David Letterman on the Late Show With David Letterman (CBS Television network, United States) on March 21, 2012. The context was an interview with actor Josh Hutcherson; he mentioned that his younger brother, Conner, placed fifth in the international competition. David Letterman said, "I'm so happy to hear this because I worry about the future of this planet... That's the most impressive thing I've heard in a year on this show." (Letterman's comments compelled me to look this group up here.)

I don't think notability is is an issue with the topic of this article, so I'm removing the notability tag. However, the article still needs a rewrite because, as it is, it sounds like it was written by someone in the group's PR department. Also, with 80,000 pages out there, it shouldn't be hard to find real sources. Sparkie82 (t•c) 05:14, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
