Talk:Fundamental

Should this page really be in the Category:Fundamental? That don't seem right... - dcljr 19:15, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I thought a fundamental wasn't just "something basic"; it was something so basic that it couldn't be built out of more basic things (eg a proton is not a fundamental particle - properly called an elementary particle - but an electron appears to be). Brianjd | Why restrict HTML? | 06:58 26 Nov 2004

I've fixed this and added a reference. Brianjd | Why restrict HTML? | 08:16, 2005 May 29 (UTC)

Fundamentalism

edit

The Fundamental article implies that the term "fundamentalism" is mainly used with religion. The Fundamentalism article implies that the term "fundamentalism" is only used with religion. Which is correct? Brianjd | Why restrict HTML? | 05:11, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Also, there are 2 links to the "fundamentalism" page. One should be removed. I nominate the one in "see also" TheDoubtingDisease (talk) 19:06, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Clean

edit

A did a clean per MoS. There was the following dicdef. Maybe it has a place in Wikipedia:

In the area of knowledge management, a fundamental category illuminates a relationship between the subjects and objects of knowledge. A fundamental is basic; it is important because it is something that other things can be built upon.

The very definition of Fundamental

edit
  • Every in-out, crossover, behind the back move in the world won’t do you any good if you don’t move your defender off the line of attack and engage the defender shoulder to hip. With his usual balance, grace and economy of motion, John Stockton in every game took his man for a stroll down Fundamental Lane. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tearprod (talkcontribs) 08:59, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Suggesting John Stockton to be removed

edit

What has this to do with John Stockton? I haven't found the word "Fundamental" in John Stockton article. I suggest John Stockton be deleted from this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.24.8.164 (talk) 13:53, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Removed, it was just vandalism, see the comment above.TheDoubtingDisease (talk) 19:04, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Suggesting that John Stockton be placed back on this article

edit

The removal of John Stockton from this article has left a black hole of fundamentalism. Very disappointing and I suggest it be added back on here. Tearprod (talk)

Not a neutral point of view

edit

"Fundamentalism, the belief in, and usually the strict adherence to, the simplistic or "fundamental" ideas based on faith of a system of thought"

The word "simplistic" here is certainly not NPOV! GeneCallahan (talk) 03:16, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
