Is this a content fork of Scottish independence? It doesn't deal with the concept of Fiscal autonomy at all, but seems to be political soapboxing with selective quotes. I urge a rapid rethink. I'm inclined to nominate this for deletion if this cannot represent a neutral, worldwide view. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I started this article initially because I was surprised to discover that no article existed on quite an important matter within Scottish politics. (I teach Scottish politics and would expect some students to look up the phrase for themselves.) What I originally wrote has been changed - perhaps you may prefer the version I wrote before it was edited to what it is now? I accept that the article is a Scottish topic and not a world view - perhaps we should move it to 'Scottish fiscal autonomy'. Cheers Fishiehelper2 (talk) 01:16, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello, and thanks for the rapid contact. The article is very problematic and seems at odds with several of Wikipedia's core principles, namely, no original research, neutral point of view, and no political soapboxing. Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not also outlines some pointers as to why this article needs an urgent rethink/rehash and may not be suitable as an article in its current form.
Though I believe you've created this article in good faith, from what you've just shared, the article could be interpretted as a conflict of interest. May I recommend an urgent toning down and more worldwide view of fiscal autonomy? -- Jza84 · (talk) 01:28, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi there. I'm relatively new to editing but I am surprised that you think what I wrote originally could be viewed as 'not neutral' or 'political soapboxing'. I'll read the policy and then the article again. Cheers Fishiehelper2 (talk) 18:05, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Errors too, there is no English Conservative party. The Scottish Conservatives are part of the main party. They may be separated in the future, but aren't now http://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/wider-political-news/davidson-urged-to-consider-scots-tories-split-from-uk-party.127050746. I am going to fix that as thispage seems tohave been abandoned. Joolzzt (talk) 23:24, 2 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Shouldn't there be some sort of discussion before changing the name and subject of this article. It has been about Full fiscal autonomy for Scotland for 14 years of its existence, until it was renamed by a Welsh nationalist editor on 26 October. Sionk (talk) 16:52, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's inappropriate to politically label people you don't know. Bold page name changes are within Wikipedia rules and Devo-max has been proposed multiple times for Wales, so this was not a controversial move. No problem if you want to revert the page name move and follow up with a discussion. Titus Gold (talk) 17:02, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Myself and others are certainly familiar at WikiProject Wales with your edits on Wales articles, your habit of hijacking other peoples' work to create various content forks, generaly leaving a trail of chaos behind you. This seems to be yet another example. But I'd be interested to hear the opinion of someone who has developed this article over the last 14 years. Sionk (talk) 19:08, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is free to be edited by all and nobody owns a page. Would you prefer to keep this as a joint page on devo-max for Scotland and Wales or would you prefer I made a page specifically about devo-max for Wales? Titus Gold (talk) 19:14, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have made nothing but cited and relevant additions here. Please consider comments before posting and ensure they are accurate and appropriately constructive. Titus Gold (talk) 19:15, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's the point isn't it - are additions about devo-max for Wales relevant to an article about devo-max for Scotland? If it was up to my opinion, I'd say a separate article would be better, to cover Wales devolution. Sionk (talk) 21:20, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
