Fukang'an is the name which is transliterated from Chinese Mandarin, "福康安". However, It is not the correct translation. Because He is actually named by his father with two Chinese words combined to a manchu suffix which should be "Fukangga". By the way, it was a popular way to name Manchu people at the mid and late Qing Dynasty.
"Fu"(福) means fortune. "Kang"(康) means safety or health. "ngga" is a suffix of manchu language which is a bound subordinate particle translatable by "s" and also a name suffix of Manchus. So Fukangga means fortunate, Safe and healthy.
Similarly, there are a lot of other examples, like, Nurhaci's grandfather, Giocangga(觉昌安), Girin General Fumingga(富明阿), Kosingga(果兴阿) and so on. I moved Fukang'an to Fuk'anggan. Reasons: 1. There are about 191,000 results if search "Fuk'anggan" on google and 190,000 results of "Fukang'an". 2.
