If we are to use solely films as references, we don't have the authority to use the term 'fruit fetishism'. Another reference would be needed to validate and verify that term. Otherwise, we are guilty of coining a phrase instead of reporting on it. Alternatively, instead of having a verify tag, we could move to "Vegetable and fruit sex in film" and re-word as neccessary. Nonsense removed

The following has been removed from the article as obvious nonsense:

A scandal hit the fetish when beloved character Goddesses' Fruitboy was exposed as an active hater of the same fruit he would pretend to worship on video. His popularity was based upon the realism of his performance and the subtlety of the fruit adoration. When the story broke fruit fetishists felt betrayed when Fruitboy was quoted saying "Give me some broccoli or asparagas and I am in heaven. Apples are for old, balding losers."
