1. Perhaps there's a lot of French-sourced Freemasonry in Russia, but there's a lot of regular too.

There certainly should be a separate article on this subject. There are articles on Freemasonry in other countries and in Russia Freemasonry was important politically and played a rather important role in the events leading to February Revolution in 1917. Many members of Russian Provisional Government were freemasons. Olegwiki (talk) 12:29, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

It is certainly true that people assume that Freemasonry was important politically and played a rather important role in the events leading to the February Revolution in 1917. What is far more difficult is substantiating this assumption with reliable sources. The lack of reliable sources was why the article was merged back in 07. Also, we must not assume that an important person in history did whatever he did because he was a Freemason. Sometimes people do things dispite being a Freemason, and indeed most of the time there is no connection at all between actions and membership in the fraternity.
