More than just one technique edit
Most sources I've found for "open flash" (e.g. this, and this) indicate that (a) this is an technique from early photography when flash wasn't synchronised (b) a modern techqnique to take several flashes during the exposure -- either to capture movement as several frames or to paint the picture with light from different angles or even different colours (c) a method for high speed photography where the flash is triggered at the moment of capture rather than the shutter. It is (c) that is used in the photograph here. Colin°Talk 09:04, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
