The Bot obviously made a mistake, this article was written based on the Save Outdoor Sculpture survey document provided by the Smithsonian Institution. I did ample research and at this time this is the only source documenting this sculpture. Missvain (talk) 22:36, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Frederic vs. Frederick

The main sources used for this page (SOS! survey, Goode's 1974 and 2008 editions of Washington Sculpture and maybe the online Art Inventories Catalog of the Smithsonian American Art Museum) all propagate an erroneous reading of Frederick for Frederic, the given name of the man commemorated by the monument. The inscription on the monument itself, as the article here correctly states, has "Frederic". Frederic is a given name (see Chopin), and a 1911 probate document from Dane County, Wisconsin available on ancestry dot com makes it clear that our Keep was legally a Frederic. I'd edit the page, but I'm afraid I would break something, because the title needs to change, too. So, I leave it to more skilled hands.
