Are there any sources/articles showing that she is still alive? I can't seem to find any recent ones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.164.222.9 (talk) 00:27, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unconfirmed death

edit

Someone at NitrateVille.com, the classic film forum, has stated that Frederica Sagor Mass has died at the age of 109. The poster failed to provide a source, though, and I can find no news source reporting her death. The link to the forum is here. --From Andoria with Love (talk) 17:50, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

SHE IS THE OLDEST PERSON IN CALIFORNIA, THAT OTHER PERSON IS THE OLDEST MEXICAN, SHE MOVED TO CALIFORNIA BUT SHES NOT A CALIFORNIAN BECAUSE SHE WASN'T BORN IN CALIFORNIA AND NEITHER WAS GERTRUDE BAINES, THE TITLE OLDEST CALIFORNIAN SHOULD GO TO THE OLDEST PERSON BORN IN CALIFORNIA, NOT SOMEONE WHO MOVED THERE BUT WASNT BORN THERE!!!!! 72.155.225.238 (talk) 15:39, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ahem, Freddie wasn't born in California either. So does that mean she's not the SECOND (as of 7/6/11) oldest "Californian"? The 112 year-old Mexican-American lady in San Diego is a US citizen, I'm pretty sure. Sdsalsero (talk) 21:42, 6 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

citations and research

edit

Leaving aside from the fact that you can't use WP itself as a reference for an article. I'd like to see someone actually ADD some researched material and the corresponding citations. This article wracks up a lot of edits and doesn't get any bigger. ANYONE have anything to add to it? EraserGirl (talk) 19:44, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sagor was a very small player in Hollywood and her book is "too big". She had her breaks, but the sum of her talents was insufficient and her agenda is driven by bitterness. Her book is the only source for her life. Its very hard to find facts on her elsewhere. This article can't be bigger because of that. And it shouldn't. Expansion

edit

I dug through her book as well as a few obvious references articles, and beefed up the article. I dislike using her own book as the major reference source, but the truth is she really isn't that important a figure. There aren't going to be many direct sources for information on her life. Her biggest notoriety is from her own memoir and secondary sources so far have all referenced back around to it. It's all very circular. 8( Any more added material would be terrific. It was funny how she elicited a response from the biographer of Paul Bern. If it hadn't been referenced here I never would have known about it. Sdsalsero (talk) 21:38, 6 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

adding other works

edit

I am starting to put together a list of other works from Freddie and Ernest, but I am uncertain how much I will find and which items are actually worth listing. Just because they wrote them, if they were unsold and unproduced they are either now lost to history or sitting in an archive - neither of which makes them noteworthy. Ferinstance....the couple took the trouble to register several plays with the copyright office in D.C. (not doubt after the filching of "Beefsteak Joe"], but if they were unsold and unproduced, who cares?

  • Hail the Bride, a play. Maas, Ernest and Frederica Sagor. 1932. Library of Congress., Copyright Office (1933). Catalog of Copyright Entries. Part 1. [C] Group 3. Dramatic Composition and Motion Pictures. New Series. United States. Dept. of the Treasury:: U.S. Govt. Print. Off. p. 78. {{cite book}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help)CS1 maint: extra punctuation (link)
  • Slums of heaven, a play in 3 scenes. Maas, Ernest and Frederica Sagor. 1929. Library of Congress., Copyright Office, (1929). Catalog of copyright entries, Part 1. United States. Dept. of the Treasury: U.S. Govt. Print. Off.,. p. 311. {{cite book}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help)CS1 maint: extra punctuation (link) CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)

middle name

edit

Please stop inserting her middle name 'Alexandrina' into every possible occurance. She was not known by that part of her name except to her parents. It clutters up the article unnecessarily. Aside from first mention of the name she was born under, her middle name is completely irrelevant. It should not appear in the Info Box either, as that name should be the name she is KNOWN under. Repeatedly adding data anonymously is provocative. EraserGirl (talk) 15:43, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Education

edit

She must have gone to Barnard College (a college for women, part of Columbia U) since Columbia College didn't accept females back then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krigsmakten (talkcontribs) 14:42, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
