Syntax re "frater..."

edit

: A fraternity (from Latin frater: "brother"; whence, therefore, "brotherhood"), fraternal order, or fraternal organization is ... (adding two words), was my initial choice of syntax, but my syntax consultant, a high-grade professional advertising copywriter, strongly recommended killing my "whence". Tho I often ignore her advice (pointing out that she generally thinks that WP and I are at best equally obtuse amateurs, and she may just be blind to why (as i claim) "Yeah but WP is less conversational, more precise, and thus 'different'." Is it even conceivable that i am right in still insisting on "therefore"?? ... in this case and to that precise extent, at least? (...Tho i'm not fully convinced that even "whence" was unhelpful.)
