Speedy Deletion edit

I'm working to include as much information as I can find about the band. Very little is available online. Pertinent articles to come include pages for the albums released. Iamdooser (talk) 15:41, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Touring edit

They're currently on the "Away From Home" Tour opening for Drake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.140.187.226 (talk) 16:42, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Interest edit

From my standpoint, I don't even know the band. Haven't even seen them in live. I like them, yes, but don't think I'm biased. It's great how other people have started editing. I didn't know about the Wesleyan show. That's why I put them on Wikipedia! I just don't personally feel comfortable removed the warning seeing as it's probably about me (being the creator and major contributor). Iamdooser (talk) 18:40, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I really don't understand why there's a notice of "Conflict of Interest." The article is totally fine and is neutral. Paperoverman (talk) 20:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
There was a warning back when I added that comment. It's removed now. Iamdooser (talk) 13:12, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

COI (2016) edit

Hey everyone. I just thought I would say that I have no connection to this band. Just a fan. I hope to sort this out with Francis if he can help. Pastures of Andalusia (talk) 21:58, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Francis told you to stop on Twitter. He says the info is inaccurate. Please stop. 108.23.122.126 (talk) 22:21, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
You're the one who is abusing edit reverts and have a possible conflict of interest. I only message on here to make sure everyone knew who the COI template is referring to. Anyways, not everything is inaccurate, I sourced a lot of the information. Don't revert everything because I helped fix the links and add the freely licensed image. He was mainly referring to the record label parameter and members section. I'll message him on Twitter to see what specifically is incorrect. Sorry for the inconvenience. Pastures of Andalusia (talk) 22:25, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Also, read what he actually said. He didn't go any further than correct the "members" concept and lack of a label. He did say that it is very "2005," but that was a reference to the same thing. However, it could be a reference to the lack of detail concerning the last 6 years of the band's history, which is not my fault because they very rarely do interviews or features. Everything on the page (now) is bolstered by the sources. Lastly, he did not tell me to "stop," as you have said here. An artist's Wiki page is not for them to control. They can help contribute by publishing information that can be sourced. We can make changes according to what they say is accurate, but Wikipedia is about the sharing of information, not "stopping editing." So, as someone without a conflict of interest, I hope I can help fix the article with accurate information. Thanks. Pastures of Andalusia (talk) 07:35, 20 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

Even though the situation has cleared up a bit, I thought I would add this to the talk page as I find it to be a major concern that needs to be documented. While there is already a COI template, I thought I would mention that I had edited and expanded the details of the band on this page and then Francis tweeted about THE VERY NEXT DAY. Why is this a concern? Because it means that they are monitoring this page and using it to frame it not only according to accuracy but also to what they want the page to say. That is the classic issue of a conflict of interest. Also, Francis seemed to blame me for things that were in fact already on the page before I edited. Finally, all of the suspicion is proven by the fact that band member Aaron Lammer replied to the tweeting by saying this:

"to be fair, i got banned from wikipedia editing for editing that page in 2005, so it’s all in the game"

Wikipedia is not a place to promote yourself or your product. Please refrain from editing if you have a conflict of interest. Pastures of Andalusia (talk) 04:13, 23 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Merge edit

I'm suggested that Francis Starlite be merged into the Francis and the Lights article. Both cover the same person, same subject, and "Franc and the Lights" is not a band/project, is the stage name that Starlite is most known by. Nice4What (talk) 01:50, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is true to an extent, however, in the past 'Francis and the Lights' has been comprised of multiple members and i believe Francis has stated that he would not limit it to just himself but add other members as necessary which could pose a problem in regards to a merge. --Rsalwan22 (talk) 11:36, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I agree that they should be merged. Francis and the 'band' are basically the same entity, and he uses it for appearances / production. 76.250.193.209 (talk) 00:51, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
