I don't think it is accurate to state that Bacon wrote the Philautia Device (1595) nor the Marriage (1613) masque. It is true that he was credited with organizing the latter but this does not mean that he wrote it. In fact, it's credited to Francis Beaumont (see STC-1664, sig.B, on the title page it says "By Francis Beamont [sic], Gent."). Also the dumb shows in the 1587-8 revels were part of the Misfortunes of Arthur so the double entry is misleading. His authorship of the Masque of Flowers has been suggested by Christine Adams (Garden History, 36, No. 1 (Spring 2008), pp.36-58) but it has not yet been generally accepted.
