As far as I know he retired from professional competition after the Tokyo Olympics but subsequently competed at the 2022 World Human Powered Speed Challenge in Battle Mountain, NV, riding the Altaïr 6 streamlined recumbent bicycle for the IUT Annecy team. The bike was pretty much destroyed when it suffered a punctured rear tyre at ~ 85 mph but François escaped without serious injury and said he hopes to return for the 2023 running of the event. If anyone fancies digging out references, coz iPads aren’t suitable for that sort of thing. Mr Larrington (talk) 22:15, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
