Afd or not. edit

Will this article need to be deleted? GoodDay (talk) 02:32, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's on the Main page now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:06, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm thinking yes. I missed the discussion, ended up there this morning somehow, and clicked here to make sure the concerns at this article had been addressed. As far as I can tell there is not a single source in this article that would support notability. Everything is affiliated, blogs, self-source, a simple listing of an upcoming event with bio, or otherwise iffy. Why do we think this musician is notable? —valereee (talk) 14:17, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
This one is an independent reliable source as far as I can judge.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:29, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I AGF'd that one. The plausible claim to editorial oversight is on their About Us page, where they say "a team of 50 writers spread across 7 countries", which while not specifically stating the work of these writers is receiving editorial oversight, I figured it might be okay. —valereee (talk) 16:10, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
He is a key figure when it comes to the legacy of the Duruflé couple, Maurice Duruflé and Marie-Madeleine Duruflé, see here and many other occurrences in the major biography. Please help yourself, I have no time right now, - ... the season. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:20, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

None of the above seems to mark this guy out as WP:NOTABLE. I would support going to AfD for a discussion.--Smerus (talk) 12:40, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please see User talk:Valereee, - I'll work on the references. - In a nutshell: if this article gets deleted, we'll return to interlanguage links to the German version, dating back to 2009. How is that an improvement for readers of the English Wikipedia? The key biography of Duruflé rests on his documentation, he made recordings, won international competitions, and sits at a prestiguous organ in Paris, - for me, that makes him notable. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:45, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Gerda, I've read the discussion chez Vaereee but it doesn't change my mind. I'll await any AfD discussion if it arises.--Smerus (talk) 20:27, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I wish I had not too many other projects, such as improving two parts of the Christmas Oratorio soonish. Any answer to the question if it helps our readers to be taken to the German article instead? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:09, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

new ref? edit

@Gerda Arendt, isn't this simply proving the thing exists? It looks like a simple online catalog entry? Does being included in this catalog mean the work is important? —valereee (talk) 14:32, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Who says it has to be important? It's a miracle that someone can remember what someone else improvised, and he can. I even think it's important, but that's not the question. It's the catalog of the publisher, Butz, as part of a series. - I don't read French. The fr- WP has him as second prize winner of the Chartres competition, but I can't access the ref, nor find something else. In German, I could do it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:44, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
If that's how we do it in the music topics, it's fine. I'd rather source it to some RS actually discussing it, though. —valereee (talk) 16:12, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I talk about the publications. Again, they would be in French and I can't help with that, on top of having no time. Usually, a number in WorldCat is all that is needed for published books, [1]. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:25, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
