Orphaned references in Fox's shared Marvel universe films

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Fox's shared Marvel universe films's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "CinemaScore":

  • From Guardians of the Galaxy (film): McClintock, Pamela (August 2, 2014). "Box Office: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Zooms to $37.8M Friday for Likely $92M Debut". The Hollywood Reporter. Archived from the original on August 2, 2014. Retrieved August 2, 2014. {{cite web}}: Unknown parameter |deadurl= ignored (|url-status= suggested) (help)
  • From X-Men (film series): "Cinemascore". Retrieved February 16, 2015.
  • From The Incredible Hulk (film): Rich, Joshua (June 15, 2008). "'Hulk': An 'Incredible' Weekend Win". Entertainment Weekly. Retrieved June 16, 2008. {{cite news}}: Unknown parameter |deadurl= ignored (|url-status= suggested) (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 01:36, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Fantastic Four

edit

Simon Kinberg has stated that Fantastic Four is not set in the same universe as the X-men franchise. [1] Perhaps once the film is released we will learn of some connection between them, but at this point I think an article for it is premature. Reach Out to the Truth 02:15, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. And all of the citations in the article only confirm that Fox owns the fights to both X-Men and Fantastic Four. Nothing in the citations indicated that they are in the same universe. I redirected this article to the X-Men franchise page (I was going to nominate it for deletion but decided against it). Darkknight2149 (talk) 20:33, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Update

edit

The Fantastic Four film is out and, after being poorly received, it was made 100% official that X-Men and Fantastic Four are NOT in the same universe. Here are the official quotes from Fox:

  • "The Fantastic 4 live in a world without mutants. And the X-Men live in a world without the Fantastic 4."
  • "They exist in parallel universes."

This is the final nail in the coffin for this shared universe article. Unless Fox suddenly decides to pull a 180 and change their mind, this article will have to remain a redirect.
