Thought you might like to know that you can't create an encyclopedia article by just copying text, even if you do cite it. Because it is in such a state (i.e. verging on copyright violation), it is almost certain to get deleted sometime in the near future. —Saposcat 14:51, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's also not very well written, like the article on Osman I. --Nrqm 18:34, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The story has historical and literatural value. That is the main reason to be best kept as it is, instead of summarizing. Its english is old english, which could be improved. Keeping the story (dated ~1290) has much value, as it gives insight to thinking and personalities of the people. The "history of Ottoman Turks" is dated 1878. There is no copy right problem, also there is no palagarism as appropriate reference is given, such as in :   This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domainChisholm, Hugh, ed. (1911). Encyclopædia Britannica (11th ed.). Cambridge University Press. {{cite encyclopedia}}: Missing or empty |title= (help). --OttomanReference 08:15, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Suggesting redirect edit

I wonder if anybody is open to the idea of redirecting this article to Rise of the Ottoman Empire. It seems like all this article does is describe the more trivial aspects of Osman I, which can all be covered in the article pertaining to him. When people search "Foundation of the Ottoman Empire" they might be looking for how the Ottoman Empire was established. They are not looking for the legends surrounding Osman I. I've redirected, but I'm keeping this talk page the way it is, so people can reference the AfD nom and the suggestions here. Master&Expert (Talk) 00:25, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
