Naming edit

Why is the article "de la corne" instead of "a la corne"? The park and the attached photo of the plaque seem to suggest "a la corne" would be preferred. — Muckapedia (talk) 26e juil. 2022 9h11 (−4h) 13:11, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

In "The manuscript journals of Alexander Henry" index I read "Fort de la Corne", 482, see Fort à la Corne" -- which I guess means "de" is known but less common. In "Déliberations Et Mémoires de la Société Royale Du Canada" I read that it was called "Fort la Corne" and also called "Nipawi" -- which I guess means neither "de" nor "à" is original. If the founders had consulted me at the time about what I thought sounded right, I would not have picked "à". There is a redirect from Fort à la Corne to this article. I suppose it should be the other way around. But is the trouble of moving worth it? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 14:34, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
