Image Building site

edit

I am glad that more Wikipedians are interested in this subject and are contributing to it, however I think that this Image Image:Sason hugi SMALL-2.jpg does not improve the article. It merely shows a building under construction from a distance, not showing any detail of the Formwork in use. I think is more useful for an article about the building under construction.

Shuttering

edit

Please define the term shuttering. Jim Derby (talk) 00:08, 21 January 2013 (UTC) Yes, but please don't just define it but give us a description. Does it mean the same thing as formwork? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.235.212.17 (talk) 13:47, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Formwork in residential house construction

edit

Hi, the article describes concrete forming for large buildings and structures nicely. Concrete forming for small structures is minimal. There is no attention to formwork for foundations of timber framed houses common in North America. The topic is worth at least a paragraph of text and a picture or two. Regards, ... Formwork types

edit

Hello!

I have a few suggestions with this article.

First, formworks are not only used for casting, but also for spraying, spinning, and slip formwing.

Second, the current "types" are not a propper classification of formworks, but rather an ennummeration of some more popular, but rather random specific types of formwork.

I suggest a simple classification based on one criterion:

* disposable formworks

* re-usable formworks

* stay-in-place formworks:

** lost formworks

** functional formworks

Additionally, there can be a section on "Examples of formwork systems", where the current formwork "types" can be listed, and others added.

Any thoughts on this? Otherwise I am happy to do the changes. Stratocaster47 (talk) 15:49, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
