Talk:Formula for change

Latest comment: 11 years ago by Ronkoller in topic F stands for Initial?

F stands for Initial?

edit

D = Dissatisfaction

V = Vision

F = "Initial, concrete steps that can be taken toward the vision"

R = Resistance

Why "F"? Why not S for Steps?

I did a quick web search and only found other sites that have copied this article.

I've also seen it written as A x B x C, but reckon "Initial" should be "First". I am making the change. Nelson50 15:32, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nelson50 ... you are absolutely correct. I have no idea who put in the word "initial" instead of "first." I guess I can't answer your question about why "F" instead of "S." Kathie passed away 10 years ago, so we can only guess. DVF is just the way she taught it.

I was with she and Beckhard at a conference where she attributed the model to him. He was just shake his head "no," and reflect the credit back to her. Neither would really boast. Kathie was a voracious reader. I can totally see her reading the Beckhard book and thinking, "now this model would be useful if only it made sense (to her)." So she changed it, used it, and attributed it to Dick.

It's not the end-all, be-all, but it is a useful prism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronkoller (talkcontribs) 19:44, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
