Restricted?
editDoes Thee Panel know whether the V6 is still going to be electromagickally speed-limited? Drophead Mustangs that only do 113 mph take some of the fun out of my annual holibobs, no matter how quickly they get there. Mr Larrington (talk) 04:49, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Freakin' Curb Weight?
editFigures on curb weights... kinda missing, eh? Pretty hard to talk about power-to-weight ratios without them. And those, in the end, are a large chunk of what makes one car better than another, performance-wise

base model...
editWhich is the base model? The 4 cyl or the less powerful V6? Is there even a concept of base model with this car? Spacecowboy420 (talk) 13:09, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- The V6 was intended to be the 'base' car, but Ford locked a lot of things, such as leather seats and better brakes, out of it, in an attempt to drive up sales of the Ecoboost model. I personally think this was a silly idea, but that is merely one man's opinion. With the V6 gone, the Ecoboost is the 'base' car. Carguy1701 (talk) 03:33, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
D2C or S550?
editI (and presumably many others) had been under the impression that S550 was a brand new design, NOT an evolution of the previous S197/D2C design, especially since in this article in Car and Criver, during the media blitz leading up to launch, the chief engineer, Dave Pericak, explicitly says it's an all-new platform. That is a lie. Working for Ford, but also using third party sources via public, WP:PAYWALL, and supplier databases, S550 uses a heavily updated version of D2C called "D5". Pericak for whatever reason lied about that or Ford Motor Company and vast network suppliers are the liars. S650 is still on D2C, but again now called "D5". - I am sorry, I forgot over the past few months that I was talking with you about this. If you want to restore S550 platform that is fine, because CD5/D5 is a heavily revised version of D2C, but it's not 100% the same. For me that is inside knowledge, but back in 2014 as a non-Ford, JLR engineer, during pre-launch/launch there were a few industry trade articles highlighting this D5 name publicly. They have vanished. We (retrospectively) launched FWD CD4 on CD391 in 2012, followed by CD5 on S550 in October 2014 and CD6 in July 2019 on U6XX.
Unfortunately for me it must have been one of those web browser sessions that disappeared with the citation. Of course. Just wish I could trace back that source, as this is a bespoke platform not shared with any other Ford, in past and present. I never understood why our suppliers and media recognize it as still D2C, because it was modified from that. D5 will be reused by S650, replaced with S750 on CD6 for 2027. I work with trucks, not so much S550/Mustang vehicles, so I forget honestly. Carmaker1 (talk) 21:38, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
There it is somewhat publicly, which ironically gave away a hellion of information about future products. It lines up with some of internal information back in 2016, not just for Ford, but other brands.
