Flights to London

edit

Flyglobespan didn't start flights to London Stansted as long ago as May 2004 did it? Kennethmac2000

No, it didn't! Typo, should be May 2005.--Ayrshire--77 4 July 2005 07:58 (UTC)
Correcting the typo has spoilt the chronological flow of this article though. It discusses May 2005 and then appears to jump back to March 2005. Kennethmac2000 4 July 2005 14:23 (UTC)
Sorted. Just swapped the paragraphs around a little and now should be in the order of March 05, May 05 and future. --Ayrshire--77 4 July 2005 17:25 (UTC)

Reliability

User: Stardub (who doesn't understand the comment signing syntax) - Is it forbidden to insert customer reports? It's amazing how bad the recent reports for this airline are. Doesn't it qualify for a general issue for this airline? I remember with Air Madrid on Wikipedia it was allowed to report about the rapid descending quality once the airline headed into trouble with delays >24 hours. It is the same with Flyglobespan right now if you verify with airlinequality dott com (and i'm tired of these output errors i'm getting from wikipedia)

Fair use rationale for Image:Flyglobespanlogo.jpg

edit

Image:Flyglobespanlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Scottish" airline

edit

Noting the attempt to change "Scottish" to "British" ... Yes, Scotland is part of the UK, but in general reference (e.g., media), "Scottish" is commonly used when appropriate. NOTE: The airline's own press releases refers to it as a "Scottish" airline. Proofreader77 (talk) 21:29, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The first line normally uses the country the airline is licenced in which is the United Kingdom as Scotland does not have a Civil Aviation Authority of its own. You could argue that it is a Scottish company but in fact its registered office is 72 New Cavendish Street, London, England so it is actually an English company. So it is not a Scottish airline or a Scottish company but is it an airline operating from Scotland. So in this instance British is probably the best way to go although as it is accurate but I would suggest perhaps it should be Flyglobespan is a British low-cost airline based in Edinburgh, Scotland. MilborneOne (talk) 22:19, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just to add that the Flyglobespan group, which is a tour operator and the bit that sells the holidays (and owns the airline) is a Scottish company but this is an article about the airline not the group. MilborneOne (talk) 23:03, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for your attention to this issue. NOTE: Due to the "complexities" of UK discourse which I am only beginning to understand -- I have replaced Scottish with UK (rather than British) ... Feel free to discuss UK as adjective. :) Proofreader77 (talk) 23:56, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
P.S., No, I see UK is duplicated in the next sentence. I'll go ahead and make it British (although I don't think that is completely unproblematic, given all the givens) Proofreader77 (talk)
P.P.S., :) I see the RussBot just came by and disambiguated "British" to a pipe of United Kingdom lol Proofreader77 (talk) 23:08, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Credit card insurance

edit

No explanation or reference is given for the company not being able to find insurers for their credit card payments. As this seems to be the key to them trading with EClear can anyone provide more information? 92.102.161.77 (talk) 17:33, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
