Merge? edit
I don't understand the distinction between this and a flopped image. In two dimensional space, any reflection can be turned into any other reflection by a rotation; if you have a "flipped image", turn it upside down, and you'll have a flopped image.--Prosfilaes (talk) 14:59, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Re: the merger discussion (or lack of), I would've thought it better to merge both into Mirror images. I can't find any online sources that talk about flipping images in any depth. Sionk (talk) 15:43, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Removed edit
I removed the following, because I suspect it belongs at Flopped image:
- Many printmaking techniques produce images where the printed copy is reversed from the image made on the printing plate, so in a print copying another image, or a real scene or object, unless the artist deliberately creates the plate as a mirror-image of his subject, the finished print will be a mirror image of it. Many print makers developed the skill of reversing images when making printing plates, but many prints, especially early ones, have images that are reversed.
