Why is the philippine Flag missing. I tried to upload and image of the flag and do this my selft but 'commons' asked for a license I do not have. I have removed the flag of the European Union from the list. My grounds were that first, the EU is, by definition (and name) an European institution, limited to Europe through it's laws and second that no Asian country is a member state of the EU as of 2007. --Xanthar 09:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Flag of Tibet

I suggest removing Tibet's flag, as it is not an independent country. If it were to remain, the same logic would require adding other flags, such as those of the so called Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Nagorno-Karabakh or Tamil Tigers .

We aren't here to tell people what is and isn't an "official"/"proper" country. - If there's a claim and defacto Government then it's essentially a country, whether or not political reasons cause countries Governments not to "recognise" them.

Tibet is a different, and far more complicated situation to Northern Cyprus, or Taiwan though, so I do agree with its removal.--Kurtle (talk) 23:52, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Australia

The Australian flag should be removed from this list.

As the island continent, Australia is part of Oceania: It is not geographically part of Asia!

And whilst it is (currently) economically tied to Asia, and some of it's institutions (particularly its sporting institution) participate in and cooperate with Asian institutions. It is culturally and politically distinct and distant. If asked it's people at best would see themselves as being with: Not in Asia.

Cyprus

I don't believe Cyprus is in Asia. It's tough to determine which continent an island is affiliated with, but since they're in the EU, I think they've decided their in Asia and we should respect that. 155.213.224.59 (talk) 18:24, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Taiwan

While I know Wikipedia generally has a pro-CCP position, this is unfair. The flag of Taiwan is not included on the map, as it is "partially recognized," but Palestine is??? And if that rule holds true, then Armenia, Israel, North Korea, South Korea, Syria, and PR China's flags should all be gone from the map, as none of these nations have full recognition from all UN members.
