Ownership
editMiami-Dade county maintains the island (as evidenced by their logo on the public signs on the island) but my research here indicates that the City of Miami Beach owns the island after accepting the property as a donation in 1939. Is that correct? (Sobesurfski 15:42, 13 June 2006 (UTC))
- I think it might be co-owned by the two goverments. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 18:35, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I found a record of the Alton Beach Realty Company deeding the land to the City of Miami Beach in 1939. I recorded that and the reference (page 18) in the article. (Sobesurfski 19:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC))
GA failed
editFor the following reasons :
- Lead too long for the length of the article.
- History could be expanded to add information about what happened between 1939 and the present day.
- The Sculptures section shouldn't be subsectioned. Lincher 15:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Forgive me for asking such a dumb question, but how do they get utilities such as power and fresh water onto the island [if at all?] 203.219.159.82 (talk) 18:41, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
