Dreux arms

edit

This is captioned "Coat of arms from 1213 onwards." Isn't it the shield of the Dreux dynasty of dukes, rather than of the duchy itself? —Tamfang (talk) 18:22, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Design of the ermine spots

edit

I have reverted the flag in this article to one of the versions without the "modern" design, the change to which was made in 2010 by an anonymous editor and which was simply never addressed again. There is no evidence that the specific design of the ermine spots on that version were any more prevalent or relevant than any other version, and indeed, I believe they were significantly less common. The design has since become more common, but that is by way of others taking the flag displayed on this very page. I attempted to contact the original uploader of the version on Wikimedia Commons regarding their inspiration, and was ignored. I have taken a negative inference from this, namely that the original uploader designed the new spots on their own. Lexicon (talk) 19:12, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
