Also a computer game edit
I played this game (called Fizzbin) on the Apple II series of computers, long ago. As far as I can remember, it matched the rules currently listed in the article. 207.172.69.74 14:33, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Might & Magic edit
Not sure if this was a direct reference or not, but the game Might & Magic 3 had an item in it called the "Ancient Fizzbin of Misfortune". Finding one placed a permanent curse on one of your characters. They were found in a few select locations and you just kind of had to know in advance not to look there in order to avoid them.
