Fiuman is not an ethnicity, it's a demonym, much as Carioca or Zagreber. And though much can be written on this topic (and has here), as can be on the topic of e.g. Rio's or Zagreb's colourful demographical history, all of what's mentioned here can be better covered at Demographics of Rijeka, History of Rijeka or the corresponding sections of the article Rijeka, and lend themselves as a fertile target to POV forking. Since the text is poorly sourced (Ivošević 2015 is a BA thesis and D'Alessio doesn't support the non-forked text), and much of the Rijeka article has the same problem, I've simply redirected the article instead.
