Fishing products have become even more accessible with the World Wide Web allowing products to be purchased through online stores. Many people are now using the internet to purchase their products online, as in many cases prices are heavily discounted. However it is important to ensure that the online stores you are visiting have secure payment methods such as Paypal and pricing is in fact cheaper than what you would pay for in a physical shop.

Angling

Is the explanation for the origin of the word 'angling' correct? The article on angling gives a different explanation. Pooldis (talk) 16:25, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Angling, in essence, is fishing with a hook (and line). Both articles say as much. Is there a different meaning implied by the different wording in each article?

This article says rods were called angles in Medieval England, hence 'angling', while the intro to the Angling article states an angle was a fish hook. Both explanations can't be right. Pooldis (talk) 20:54, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Although angling is clearly about the Hook not the Rod [1], I can see where the line in this article is incorrect. When I get home from this trip, I'll work on it. --Mike Cline (talk) 23:49, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

The smallness

Starting at "...World wide, the recreational fishing tackle industry is big business, worth over five billion US dollars annually in the United States alone..." and on is really, really teeny. Nope, I don't like it. Where's the code making it so? Please help remove it. It's unconventional, and only suited for teeny, teeny people. Thank you. Cord Attacher

A cord attacher is a primitive device for attaching a cord to the rod, or splicing two cords together. It appears often in ethnology museums.

Hi! This is an important etnographic term: if you need to make fishing tackle yourself, you'll probably have to use something similar.
