Bonar duo?

edit

Anyone know what a bonar duo is? I couldn't find "bonar" in the dictionary or anything that made sense in a google search, sounds sort of like a dirty word I know ;) --Fxer 16:54, 21 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

You know, I was looking at that, and thinking maybe "bonar" is some clever scene-y way of describing Fischerspooner's electronic ("sonar"), deliberately cheesy and overblown ("boner") sound . . . and then I was thinking that I was thinking too hard. Some anonymous dude stuck it in there--I think it's just vandalism. I'm going to make it go away. Iralith 20:02, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Freaks: An pseudonym for Fischerspooner?

edit

I heard that Freaks was a pseudonym for Fischerspooner. Is this true at all?72.130.198.232 06:18, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

cursor search reveals no leads - where'd you hear it? MattLohkamp 08:02, 8 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt.lohkamp (talkcontribs)

Trivia

edit

I cut this from the article. None of it is referenced, and most of it is, well trivial:

  • Warren Fischer of Fischerspooner usually does not perform live with the band, but is usually hanging out backstage or mixing the sound. He also rarely appears in the band's music videos but has directed or co-directed a few of them.
  • Warren Fischer of Fischerspooner usually DJ's when the band does DJ gigs. Casey Spooner rarely appears during these shows.
  • Their song "Emerge" was featured in one of a series of VH1 promos in 2003.
  • "All We Are" was also featured in another episode in the third season Nip/Tuck.
  • Fischerspooner was first galleried with Gavin Brown Enterprises.
  • Fischerspooner have been sponsored by, and frequently performs at Deitch Projects, a New York art gallery run by Jeffrey Deitch.
  • Fischerspooner has had several songs used in professional snowboarding videos such as "Cloud" used in Standard Film's 2005 release "Paradox" and "Never Win" used in Mack Dawg Production's 2005 release, "From ___, With Love"
  • Fischerspooner has had a shortened and remixed version of their song "emerge" called "snow" featured in a Hummer_H2 television spot.

Some of this may belong in the article, for example the art gallery sponsorship, but we should find a source for it. Jkelly 03:13, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The varying appearances of the two under different conditions would be relevant if someone were willing to relate it back to the sort of 'roles' that each member plays in the group - "Casey Spooner rarely appears during DJ sets, while his counterpart Warren Fischer rarely appears during live performances, leading some to theorize that ..." it'd probably need a citation to back it up, though.MattLohkamp 08:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup

edit

A good 'ole wikifessional cleanup would be nice. This band is far too good to be drenched in article obscurity. Try adding stuff about their new album and book, as well as what their shows are like. (Nbmatt 03:00, 2 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

Remove Redirection

edit

Redirecting to Fischerspooner's page when searching for Casey Spooner is bad. This creates confusion. Casey Spooner is band member not the band itself. (Apple Grew 16:06, 15 September 2007 (UTC))Reply

no mention of 'The Cave'?

edit

I know it exists - I've listened to it with friends, and their own label mentions it on this page: capitolrecords.net/fischerspooner/data/media.htm

Even though I don't remember if the release itself contains any exclusive musical or (auto)biographical material (although it's likely that you can't find it mixed in the way it is on The Cave tracks), it is a release nonetheless, and should probably be at least mentioned somewhere... not a portmanteau

edit

I am removing the bit about the name being a portmanteau, because it is merely their 2 names together. portmanteau implies losing or rearranging part of one if not both words. 98.172.37.117 (talk) 16:58, 23 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
