Better explanation needed

edit
Suda 51 was a writer for the Super Famicom versions, delivering one of the most shocking endings in video game history.

So... what exactly is this refering to? I'm not suggesting it be removed, I'm just suggesting it be explained or clarified. Jeff Silvers 22:55, 15 November 2005 (UTC) {{spoiler}}Reply

In the ending of the Fire Pro Special, your character commits suicide after becoming world champion, as there is nothing left to accomplish.
A spoiler tag in that section seems unwieldy, and would be better suited to a specific article for the game. Once there is an article in place, perhaps it would be a good idea to add a note at the end of the sentence such as "(see <article name> for further details)". -Jacquismo 03:17, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

...Holy crap, are you serious? That's insane and sorta awesome. I'd love to see some screens of that, if anybody has some. Jeff Silvers 21:01, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Actually the wrestler commits suicide because the woman he was after spurned him and he couldn't live with it--68.81.176.14 (talk) 03:29, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

English title is Fire Prowrestling not Fire Pro Wrestling

edit

At least it is for most of the games. A few did seperate Pro and Wrestling, but the bulk of the games have it as one word on the box/title screen/etc. I suggest someone make changes to the articles to reflect that. 12.75.31.107 05:30, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

End of series?

edit

I know this probably isn't the most reliable of sources, but in this King of Colloseum II review on Gamespot, the author mentions that Spike has canceled the Fire Pro series:

It was a sad time for wrestling fans everywhere in 2003 when Spike released Fire ProWrestling Z for the PlayStation 2. Not because the game was bad, mind you, but because it was the last in the company's devoutly followed 2D wrestling franchise that spanned multiple decades and console generations.
. . .
Although King of Colosseum was met with somewhat lukewarm reactions, Spike made it clear that it was going in a 3D direction.

Can anybody back this up with an official source? If FPWZ was, sadly, the end of the series, this should probably be mentioned in the article somewhere. Jeff Silvers 07:06, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

FPZ wasn't the end since they released FPR in 2005. There have been rumors of a Nintendo DS game, but nothing concrete. So they decided to end the series at Z, but changed their minds.

...Now I feel kinda stupid for posting something that could've been proven wrong by looking at the article. Heh. Anyway, yeah, I'd heard the rumors that they were working on a wrestling game for DS and that some people were speculating it may be a new Fire Pro game. I also heard they had been working on an FPW for Gamecube. That would've been nice. :( Jeff Silvers 18:08, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
If I understand correctly, the Game Cube Fire Pro game was canceled in favor of Fire Pro Wrestling Z on the PS2. But, anyway, if you read the Fire Pro Wrestling Returns article, it was recently announced that FPR is coming to the US, thanks to Agetec. Gamespot says so. Now if only Agetec would bring King Of The Colosseum over here... --Brandon Myers 22:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should King of Colosseum II be listed?

edit

King of Colosseum II is listed as part of the Fire Pro series, but from what I can tell, its only connection to the series is that they were produced by the same company and they're both wrestling games. Should it really be listed here? Come to think of it, a similar argument could be made against including HAL Wrestling. Jeff Silvers (talk) 16:41, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

This page is a mess

edit

Half the wikilinks are red, and the other 95% are pages that redirect to this page. Are all the links necessary, or better yet, was it necessary to redirect the links to this article? MDowdal (talk) 10:59, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Individual articles

edit

Individual articles used to exist for Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag, Fire Pro Wrestling 2nd Bout, Super Fire Pro Wrestling, Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3 Final Bout, Fire Pro Gaiden: Blazing Tornado, Fire Pro Wrestling: Iron Slam '96, Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium, Fire Pro Wrestling S: 6 Men Scramble, Fire Pro Wrestling (GBA), and Fire Pro Wrestling 2. It appears that in December 2009, a user named Curtis23 took it upon himself to redirect all of these pages to Fire Pro Wrestling without any sort of formal discussion (at least not one that I could track down). Since this would be a pretty wide-reaching series of reverts, I decided to bring a discussion here first (which is what should've been done in the first place). Anybody object to reinstating some or all of the articles? Jeff Silvers (talk) 21:18, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I say go for it, except, I think some Fire Pro games should be combined into one topic. Like how SFPWX and SFPWXP should be in the same page. However, I would suggest seperating Fire Pro 1 and Fire Pro 2, the GBA games, because, I think the differences between the versions(especially in the Japanese versions) are big enough to be seperate topics. 173.31.126.198 (talk) 09:17, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've restored the articles. They all vary in quality from stub class to barely middling, but such a mass redirect of articles required more broad consensus, which apparently was not achieved. And the self-redirects to this page were not fixed to boot. --Jtalledo (talk) 20:14, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
