Talk:Finished goods

End items edit

In the world of manufacturing bill of materials, there are end items, which I presume are equivalent to a finished good. Are they synonymous, or are there subtle differences? 70.247.170.9 (talk) 22:38, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

'End items' refers to items that have finished being processed, rather like 'final products', but 'finished goods' refers to items that are ready for sale, rather like 'finished products', and it implies that it has passed quality control checks, etc., not just that it has stopped being processed.
