Why does this redirect exist? I typed in Fingerhut hoping to find information on the retail catalog order company, not some guy named Fingerhut. --Mjrmtg (talk) 23:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply


Fingerhut is an ecommerce retailer offering over 350,000 brand name and exclusive private label items. Fingerhut sells merchandise from home décor to jewelry, electronics to shoes, and kitchen appliances to tools.

Fingerhut gives its customers the credit they deserve, helping low to moderate income Americans afford the items they need and want, with the flexibility to pay over time with budget friendly, low monthly payments.


History

Fingerhut was founded in 1948 by William Fingerhut and his brother Manny Fingerhut. The signature merchandise was vinyl car seat covers. In 1952, the business re-positioned itself to a mail order catalog company and diversified its goods to include towels, dishes, and tools. In 1969 the company went public. The Fingerhut brand has passed through several ownerships during its existence, including onetime ownership by American Can Company and its successor Primerica, Federated Department Stores (1999), and Petters Group Worldwide (2002), and Bain Capital Ventures (2004).[4]

Fingerhut was voted one of the Star Tribune Top Work Places in Minnesota in 2010, 2013, and 2014. [1] In September 2014, Fingerhut, along with parent company Bluestem Brands, was sold to Capmark Financial Group, and is now known as Bluestem Group. [2]


Location Fingerhut’s corporate office is located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The company distributes products from distribution centers in St. Cloud, MN; Indiana; and Nevada. The company employs over 2,700 employees.

When the product is paid off, FreshStart members can graduate to a more advanced credit account. • Fingerhut Flex – This program allows individuals to purchase products without a credit check and make low monthly payments over the course of 18 months. Users can schedule their payments on their schedule. • Safeline – Safeline is Fingerhut’s branded credit protection plan.

Outreach • Habitat for Humanity Fingerhut has been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity since 2014, with a partnership on part of their parent company, Bluestem Group.
