Farushi & Rushi Not Farsi & Lusi

The reference from IGN does say Farsi and Lusi but other sources say Farushi and Rushi. So which one is it. Either the IGN article failed to translate properly or I don't know. Seriously guys we need to figure this out. Which one is it.

Dude yeah, on the final fantasy fan sites, they are calling them Farushi and Rushi i think your right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.186.29.171 (talk) 18:40, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

This is probably due to the way Japanese names are written. Technically, its not possible to write Farsi or Lusi in japanese exactly as is. Farushi and Rushi would be the direct "translation" from (what i presume was) katakana to romanji-english. Until there's an *official* english naming i think it should be made as Farushi/Rushi.... --Vylen (talk) 16:16, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Multiplayer in FFXIII

Is there any news if there's going to be multiplayer or not? I figured since they were not producing a sequel to Final Fantasy XI in the form of another FF MMORPG, they might include a similar multiplayer aspect in future FF titles. 72.49.194.69 01:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC) Joshua

I'm really sorry for the antagonizing behavior, Joshua. As for your query, no, there's no news up yet for multiplayer capability. If you have any news about it, feel free to post it up, but make sure it's a reliable source. And again I apologize. — Blue 01:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Awwwww, that was very sweet and compassionate of you Bluerfn. Thank you for saying so, I will not forget your kind apology to me, however I am the one that should apologize. I regret our past exchanges, I was completely belligerent and out of line, aswell as simply provoking conflict and tension. I am sorry, it will NOT happen again. I am predisposed and prone toward anger, ie. quick to anger, which is a problem I've been trying to deal with. It is in no way to suggest any kind of excuse for the behavior I exhibited towards you, rather it is simply an admission of a really awful personal flaw I have. With that said, I'll just say that I hope to hear more about FFXIII's online capabilities and possible multiplayer at TGS 2007. Correct me if I'm wrong, Bluerfn, but didn't one of the FFXIII producers mention online capabilities in an interview? 72.49.194.69 03:36, 26 July 2007 (UTC) Joshua
Oh and before I forget, Bluerfn. I also wanted to mention, I was arguing with you over PS3 exclusivity for FFXIII and such. Turns out, you were right and I was wrong. Square Enix said plans for Xbox 360 are a 'blank page', FFXIII definately won't be appearing for the 360. I really wanted it to be multi-platform but that's a pipe dream now. 72.49.194.69 03:47, 26 July 2007 (UTC) Joshua
We are all prone to our emotional and negative persons, myself included, and that is an admission of my own lack of professionalism and rational-thinking. The "exclusivity discussion" will forever be a reminder of it. That said, let's put the past behind us and act together professionally to improve Wikipedia articles.
Here's an interview on FFXIII in E32006. It's not much, but there seems to be hints on online capability. — Blue 03:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
It's interesting that he says "Although it is not in the schedule currently, it might be added half a year later." I wonder if he meant half a year after the game is released they will do something with an online component. Unless he meant half a year after that interview was done, ie. later down the road in production. 72.49.194.69 18:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC) Joshua

ATB Mixed with Real Time?

I noticed that the Enemies were Moving in Real Time the trailer for FF13,but this could jus be a up and down motion or moving a couple centimeters and forward. like, lighting can move but is limited to if she can attack or not. Probably not. i guess >.<.--Hitamaru 16:53, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

You are correct, the battle system of FFXIII will be ATB mixed with RT, as opposed to ADB (featured in FFXII). One of the producers mentioned this in an interview. Did you mention this because you wished to add it to the article or what? 72.49.194.69 20:39, 1 August 2007 (UTC) Joshua
Yeah cause it looked not jus ATB but something else .i was wonder if anyone knew this system to add to article.--Hitamaru 02:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy 13's Progress?

Should it be added that its actually coming Q1 cause.13% progress for FF 13 and FF versus' 1.3% are jus the number 13 xD! It's one of those Square-Enix Inside jokes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hitamaru (talkcontribs) 21:53, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

How is that anything but trivium? Leave it out of the article. --ΔαίδαλοςΣ 19:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Cause it kinda funky xD! The Cloud chick thing is more trivum imo. Cause that isn't what nomura actually said.A girl who's independent and strong both physically and mentally --Hitamaru 20:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
No, Nomura was asked to make a female version of Cloud.

EGM: What can you tell us about the heroine of FFXIII?

Motomu Toriyama: We can't tell you all the details, unfortunately. Looking at the history of the FF series, there were already female main characters, like in FFVI, FFX, and FFX-2. This time, one of the characteristics of this heroine is that she's not that feminine. I tried to make her someone very strong, independent. When I asked Mr. Nomura to design this character, I requested someone like a female version of Cloud from FFVII.

Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 21:29, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
The Cloud chick thing is relevant design information and belongs in the article, it is not trivial. But the FFXIII and 13% and 1.3% thing will only be true for a short time period and is a completely random coincidence anyway. It's trivium and it doesn't belong in the article. --ΔαίδαλοςΣ 15:40, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
It sounds like bunk. More or less an inside joke. 72.49.194.69 09:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC) Joshua
Well... I wanted to know... how will using the 6 spe will make any difference in the graphics, since the RSX is the one that makes the graphics rendering...—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.231.170.102 (talkcontribs) 23:33, 11 August 2007 {UTC}
The SPEs are highly optimised for floating-point vector and matrix transformations. They can therefore operate on large sets of such structures which are used to represent data in the scene - vertex data, normal data, and so on; therefore, using multiple SPEs, in parallel, allows you to transform huge sets of data in realtime. More transformations and computations on more vertex/polygon data thus contributes to the overall graphics output (polygon count, dynamic realism in the scene, etc.)—Preceding unsigned comment added by SynergyBlades (talkcontribs) 20:57, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand your question. That's probably my own mental capacity shortcoming though. 72.49.194.69 06:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC) Joshua
Is this enough of those um thingys... Actually Normura was asked to make a character who was strong both physically and mentally. Why a female cloud... she doesn't resemble cloud or act like him. I got the OPM that says it xD! EGM SPECUALTORZ TO COVER UPZ wait motumo? It's Tetsuya not that's speculation--Hitamaru 20:06, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
FFXIII is now 80% complete and is up and running on PS3 hardware. Here's my source http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/media/scans/psmuk/01.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.95.16.163 (talk) 17:36, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
That doesn't prove anything, amazon.com has ffXIII on preorder and it says its going to be released at december 1st. Should we trust that as proof? Heres the link (http://www.amazon.com/Square-Enix-Final-Fantasy-XIII/dp/B000FQ2DTA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1204822670&sr=8-1 ) 208.248.33.30 (talk) 17:04, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
If you actually read what he said which was that it was 80% complete not when it was being released you wouldn't have to post such a stupid comment, next time read what the guy before you says and read his source. It's people like you that makes me want to punch a baby. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.186.29.171 (talk) 18:43, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

May 15, 2008

I've heard from several reputable sources that there will be a worldwide simultaneous release on May 15, 2008. If someone should happen upon an official statement by Square Enix, would you please post it here? Thanks. 72.240.163.23 21:52, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Any release date is purely speculative. Could you identify these 'reputable sources' you speak of? Are we talking Best Buy and Gamestop? Or Famitsu and Playstation magazine? I would feel safer waiting for SE's official decleration. 72.49.194.69 16:26, 12 August 2007 (UTC) Joshua
Thus the reason I asked for people to keep an eye out. 72.240.163.23 17:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Anything about this would most likely be announced at The Tokyo Game Show in September. Although it's possible Sony could announce this at the Leipzig Games Convention in Europe next week, but I doubt it. Starwarsrulez 06:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

If the release date and anything else that happens at the Tokyo Game Show is announced, please cite it. Greg Jones II 20:50, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Looks like that date didn't happen... do we have any news about it from E3, etc? Duct tape tricorn (talk) 13:56, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Redundancy?

"Square Enix recently announced they had licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 to use on a number of particular next generation titles, but will still use the White Engine for Final Fantasy XIII.[15]. Unreal Engine 3 is to be used for other upcoming Square Enix games, with the White Engine still being used for Final Fantasy XIII.[16]"

Is it just me, or do both of those sentences say pretty much the same thing, one right after the other?

The second setence should be eliminated entirely. --ΔαίδαλοςΣ 20:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Lightning.JPG

Image:Lightning.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Inserted fair-use rationale. — Blue 06:54, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

As seen in the trailer...

Just a request: if something new pops up in a trailer, or in an interview, please report the facts in the article and then leave the source of the fact to the reference you provide along with it. This way, the article will be free of "As seen in the E3 2006 trailer, ...", or "Character designer Tetsuya Nomura has stated in the February issue of X magazine...", which seemed to crop up every other paragraph before I edited it a bit. 62.56.108.66 (talk) 23:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Question about scenario writer

Thanks for reading this. There was no early announcement of who the scenario writer was for this game I think. Although I thought it would probably be Kazushige Nojima. I see that Motomu Toriyama is listed as scenario writer. I wasn't aware of this position for him, although I know he's also done scenario writing in the past. I'm curious please for a specific source stating who the scenario writer is. By the way, do you think somebody should make a page for Isamu Kamikokuryō, the art director? I may make one later(and one for Shinji Hashimoto of Final Fantasy Versus XIII), or do you think that Kariteh can make one? Thanks for your help! :) Dragonblades (talk) 02:05, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Kamikokuryo doesn't seem particularly notable. Kariteh (talk) 16:26, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Additional character?

I'm not too familiar with Final Fantasy, in fact I just got into it before XIII's future release was announced. So, I don't know if this is an old character or a "stage" of a different character or whatever, but who's the person with blue hair and red eyes on GameTrailers' website? (see top banner) http://www.gametrailers.com/game/2649.html Does anyone know who this is, or should it just be listed as "blue-haired man (i think)"? [[ 514YR ]] (talk) 00:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

It's the main character of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and he doesn't have an announced name yet. :D Dragonblades (talk) 00:37, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
That's the main character from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, another game in the collection of Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII. See the latter article for details on where the two games fit in. SynergyBlades (talk) 00:38, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay, sorry for not finding that myself, and thanks for clarifying for me. I'll try and do some more research next time. I wasn't aware the rest of the series had been announced simultaneously. [[ 514Y3R ]] (talk) 04:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Spooky! ;) Synergy/Blades (Talk) 20:22, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
lol Well, seeing as FFXI's was onboard with 360. It's no suprise that Square Enix was going to look into this game as well Zeta Nova 02:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
It was never gonna happen when it was just Squaresoft, shame really that they can't stick to Sony Tidus mi2 (talk) 19:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
