Peer Review for Fina Torres

edit
Hi there, here are my suggestions for improvement: the lead section can include more prominent and most current details about Torres' life that can be cited. I think some links can be added to certain words in this article. The paragraph under the subheading ‘Personal life’ is more about her education or early life. Maybe you could expand on the personal life section if you want to include it. Or dig up more info about her early life. Perhaps you would like to create a table for the filmography section if you want to specify which films she directed and/or wrote. The part about Torres being a part of the new Latin American Cinema is gold. Maybe, you could go into Torres' role in this movement and what she contributed. This could show readers why she is important enough to appear on Wikipedia? Maybe it could have its own section and include what inspires her and who she has inspired. Is Torres really going into social advocacy or did this material for Liz in September just happened to be beneficial to the LGBT crowd? Is there secondary research which shows what she advocates? What themes are covered in her films? Did any writer point out any connection between what appears in her movies and what is going on in Venezuela or South America? Just some questions to help you think. Babyphilosopher (talk) 00:48, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Peer Review for Fina Torres

Hi there,

Your article has a strong leading paragraph, where we get a general and brief start to who you are talking about. The background information on Fina Torres is quite good as you give us a good idea on the places she has travelled and what she has studied, However a small suggestion would be to change the wording in the first two sentences in the background section, for example in the second sentence you had said that she had "studied design, photography, and journalism there...", I just suggest you be more clear on where there is, it is clear that there implies Venezuela but a more clear understanding would add to your article. The career section of your article is very organized and gives the reader clear understanding information on the accomplishments of Fina Torres. You mention that she had won multiple awards for her film, a small suggestion would be to add an awards section. The second last section, social advocacy, is good, however it would good if there was more information on the specific political themes she demonstrates in her films, perhaps a small description of her film Liz in September. The article is very well done and I hope I was helpful with my suggestions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luna9881 (talkcontribs) 14:48, 1 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
