I'm an inclusionist, but I really wouldn't be surprised if this article got an AfD. That jargon means that I personally see no reason why this article should be deleted, but others probably will.--HisSpaceResearch 14:26, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, I'm not a native speaker but I didn't quite catch what you wrote. --Daĉjoпочта 16:43, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I mean that if Filippo doesn't meet Wikipedia's rules about WP:BIO on notability of persons, then others may try to delete this article. I won't list it for deletion, myself.--HisSpaceResearch 18:42, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think he probably does satisfy the notability guidelines having had English language newspaper publications about his death and the football violence.--HisSpaceResearch 18:46, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the explanation. I obviously agree with you, since Filippo Raciti can be listed among persons achieving renown or notoriety for playing a major role in a event receiving major news and media coverage. --Daĉjoпочта 19:00, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD edit

I certainly do see why this article should be deleted. Many law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty - while they are tragic, almost none of them are notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. As for the inclusion in foreign news media, the articles I have seen are about the violence and subsequent suspension of Italian football, not about the officer himself. Basically, what I mean is that the content of the articles would be the same if they had left his name out and simply said "an officer was killed". At best, this article should be merged with the article about the violence but I'm not even sure what that would add. I am nominating this article for deletion. -- Zytron 00:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I whole-heartedely disagree. As I stated in AfD discussions for similar articles, Police officers killed in the line of duty are certainly notable. Wikipedia considers one-line articles on just about any professional sports player (including soccer players etc that many people have never heard of) and minor celebrities notable enough to be here therefore someone who dies protecting others should at least be given the courtesy of being considered "notable". I have seen articles with much less information in them allowed to stay on this website, so this one should be kept as well. my vote is a STRONG KEEP.EMT1871 17:26, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Translation edit

I believe the sentence "ispettore di polizia" would be best translated by "Police Inspector". Popersman 18:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Seeing that further edits have transformed his title into "ispettore capo di polizia" the proper english translation should be Chief Inspector.Popersman (talk) 17:06, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article needs to be updated edit

It needs to be updated to show the outcome of the 17 year-old's trial, sentencing, etc.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 11:40, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Car accident edit

The testimony of one of the policemen indicates that the cause of Rciti's death might have been a car accident.[1] I think this should be included in the article. --MrBurns (talk) 11:43, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
