I understand that Nguyen recently received Vietnamese citizenship, but according to WP:MOSETHNICITY and WP:FOOTY standards, the acquisition of a new/secondary citizenship/nationality does not automatically make that player represent the new nation internationally over their original nation. So the lede should not change until he has appeared for Vietnam. I am open to other opinions, but consensus has long held that this is the case, and Nguyen and players with Vietnamese citizenship should not be exceptions.
