I do not mind inserting released 500px figurenude photos. I will if I can label them "BW figurenude by Curtis Neeley" Figurenude is a term used by many of the best today. You can see about 20 of them at figurenude.com It is currently going through the process the word quark did once. I realize the word is a commonly used "neologism" or "protologism". Either it is used in the photo label or I will just leave it alone. I feel it is an extremely useful term because some who do figure art would be upset if it were assumed they worked with nudes. I added a photo and explained the word figurenude. Added external links to two sites with figure studies that help illustrate the need to often be more specific.CurtisNeeley (talk) 01:29, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Provided a simpler, clearer definition which includes the two senses of the term: (1) a preparatory study by professional artists and (2) sketches by students for educational purposes. Removed photography until I can find references. I think of Figure Study as used in photography as being a euphemism for Nude, not in any way a preparatory or educational work. Good. Perhaps to demonstrate the purpose of the preparatory study the corresponding image of a completed painting can be added--say, Michelangelo's 'Entombment'. But the article could use more text before adding more photos. Back into my cave. JNW (talk) 01:00, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Making an addition, I looked at this for the first time in months and think there is no reason not to rate it GA since it covers this minor but WP:N topic as fully as it needs to be. FigureArtist (talk) 14:56, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
