Talk:Figure skating at the Olympic Games

This article is almost indentical to List of Olympic medalists in figure skating. Suggest that one redirect to the other. Viking880 11:08, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I concur. I made Figure skating at the Olympic Games because it was a red link page and did not know about the other page. I would consider using this page, because it links with the table for all Olympic figure skating competitions. Thecrookedcap 01:29, 28 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This page name (almost) follows the page name we are using for all Olympic results:

  • "Sport at the Winter Olympics" or "Sport at the Summer Olympics" for the summary page of all games. I know that figure skating and ice hockey originated in the summer games, so the variation in name makes sense
  • "Figure skating at the xxxx Winter Olympics" for specific results at each games

Agree. Page(s) should be merged. Pelladon 16:57, 30 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pages have been merged. Figure skating at the Olympics now redirects to Figure skating at the Olympic Games. --Fang Aili talk 21:42, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

For the sake of completeness, it seems to me they are missing in these tables.Hektor 22:48, 18 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Error in the list of participating nations edit

I've noticed that there's an error in the "Participating nations" section. Several countries, including Turkey and Ukraine, are not present there, but they were participants for sure. Maybe there're more mistakes in this list, which I didn't find. We should check the article, but how? Is there any similar lists in the web to compare with? -- DEERSTOP (talk). 01:24, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, errors like this do creep it. Obviously, of course, Ukraine did participate--they are in the medals list, and that's a bit hard to do if you don't compete! De Wael operates a website that would be excellent were it complete, but it is a bit spotty and only goes through 1928 for figure skating. Mallon and others run another website, which is helpful in many respects but not completely on point here. It has a figure skating page that lists the medal winning country and gives a number for participating countries--but with theirs at 53, we already have more than their count. They also have individual pages, such as Ukraine Figure Skating, which are excellent for double checking on individual countries, but short of going through all 300+ NOC codes I don't know of an easy way to check which have participated and which haven't. Maybe they have a list somewhere I just haven't found. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 04:05, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for an explanation! My will isn't strong enough to check the list country-by-country, so let it just be as it is. :) -- DEERSTOP (talk). 12:00, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Georgia is also absent. -- DEERSTOP (talk). 12:44, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
