Independent article?

edit

Based on the section of another article that this redirect points to, it would appear that this organization probably now meets WP:GNG and could have its own article. I have seen reliable sources in two or three mainstream press outlets in the past hour or so, including the International Business Times and the Hollywood Reporter, mostly over the kerfuffle that has arisen over the withheld-release of the movie The Interview (2014 film). Here are a couple more of those newer sources. Plus there seem to be a half-dozen sources at the redir-linked article. This thing definitely meets WP:GNG now. N2e (talk) 15:52, 19 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Since it clearly meets WP:GNG and is sourced, I've gone ahead and created a stub article today. N2e (talk) 17:35, 20 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia angle

edit

By the way, the CNN source provided above includes details on thumb drives that are inside the airborne balloons that are flying into NK, including copies of Wikipedia on a bootable thumb drive to get knowledge into the "hermit kingdom" that has no access to the internet. Fascinating. Needs an article. I'll get back here after a while if no one gets to it before I do. N2e (talk) 15:56, 19 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article would be improved with a photograph

edit

This article would definitely be improved with the addition of a photograph of the some activity of this organization. Many news sources have photos of the balloons being sent aloft. Does anyone know where we might find, or anyone have in their possession, any photographs that might be licensable under Wikipedia rules? Adding {reqphoto} template. Huh?

What a sentence:

"Following an international geopolitical controversy in December 2014, both organizations are planning to obtain DVD copies of The Interview—whose Christmas 2014 theatrical release was initially canceled, and then released to independent and arthouse cinemas as well as online[5][6] —during hackings on Sony Pictures Entertainment, across the border and into North Korea via balloon drops." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.213.20.170 (talk) 04:16, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
