Far from being a distinct as the {{Distinguish}} template suggested, the field concept of Pierre Bourdieu is one of many field theories in sociology.

Obviously, there is substantial affinity between Bourdieu's scheme and the one proposed here. Bourdieu is as responsible for the idea of situating action in fields as any scholar.
