Infoboxes

edit

All the infoboxes for different topics are color coded. The auto ones need to have the automobile standard color specified at Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Layouts. If you're going to change them, change them to that. Thanks.Hektor 19:32, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Add production/separate models

edit

A nice addition to your page would be the production chart of these. I have an '84 308 RG QV Euro. I know they only made a total of 233 but I've always wondered of those how many were Euro RH drive? Anyone know?

We need to seperate the 308 and 328 as they are seperate cars just similar looking like the 360 and f430.

Fuel injection -- Bosch or Marelli?

edit

This edit changed the description of the Bosch Digiplex system to a Marelli Digiplex system. Google seems to be about equally divided as to which was the actual manufacturer. Anyone have a definitive source?--chris.lawson 02:03, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

208 GTB/GTS Turbo

edit

The car was NOT discontinued after 1985 instead was upgraded with twin turbos. Check it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.212.10 (talk) 11:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed changes

edit

In my opinion the title of this article should simply be Ferrari 308. In order to maintain consistency among Ferrari cars, since GTB and GTS are just models, GTB should not appear in the title. The opening line, "The 308 GTB (and similar 208 and later 328) were mid-engined sports cars manufactured by the Italian company Ferrari in the 1970s-1980s" is not grammatically correct and should be replaced with "The 308 was a mid-engined sportscar manufactured by Ferrari between 1975 and 1984" which is more appropriate. The information about the Ferrari 208 GTB/GTS does not belong to this page and should be moved to the Ferrari 208 article which still needs to be created. The tables for 208 GTB/GTS and 328 GTS do not belong to this page and should be moved to their respective pages. If the Ferrari 308 was around from 1975 to 1984 then the timeline should be corrected because it shows that the Ferrari 308 era started in 1980. The timeline also shows 308i and 308qv. To be consistent with most models I believe it would be correct to merge the two to one under the name 308.

This makes sense to me - but I've see similar convention followed in the other pages for Ferraris of this era. Not sure why GTB/GTS belongs here.
Eg, I would not title a page on another sportscar as "<Vehicle Name> Coupé/Roadster".
Some changes have since been made to remove the 328 related info from this page (except in relation to the successor of this car) - but I still see a detail regd 16" wheels on the 328 (not sure if that is a typo).
However I do think that the 208 related details belong here - since it appears to be the same car with a different engine. I don't consider it appropriate to separate the a page based on just the engine variant used. However Ferrari did brand them differently so maybe they belong in different pages? Not sure.

Should we add that it was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti? Bojan, 21. 9. 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.53.179.233 (talk) 13:34, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Moved to Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS. I'm not going to split out the 208 material but I believe that would be a good idea. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:22, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Naming consistency, current title put weight on the coupe GTB over the GTS model. --Donnie Park (talk) 13:42, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'll settle for that. Donnie Park (talk) 19:12, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Split and rename

edit

11 years passed since I posted a comment on the title and nothing changed! Amazing! Again, this article should be split into Ferrari 208 and Ferrari 308. GTB and GTS should not be part of the titles of the articles.

16-inch wheels for 308 or 328 ? (under Model History)

edit

There's a line (Under the 308 GTB/GTS subsection under Model History) that says,

Five-spoke 14-inch alloy wheels were standard, while 16-inch wheels were made available later as an option on the 328, together with sports exhaust system, high compression pistons, and high lift camshaft.

With respect to the 16 inch wheels - is this a typo and should it be "made available later as an option on the 308"? If it is indeed accurate - then does this belong in the article on the Ferrari 308?
